Injectable Fillers ( Lip augmentation, chin augmentation)
Procedure - Soft-tissue fillers, most
commonly injectable collagen or fat. They help fill in lines and
creases, temporarily restoring a smoother, more youthful-looking
appearance. These injections are added underneath the skin to plump up
and elevate sunken in areas of the face. They can be used to add
fullness to lips and cheeks. The results are not permanent, the
material is eventually metabolised by the body.
Duration - No longer than 1 hour
Anesthesia - A topical cream or spray may
be used to anesthetise the area. If the patient requests, we can also
administer a local anesthetic.
Hospital Stay - You may leave as soon as the procedure is finished.
Risks and side effects - Allergic
reaction is the primary risk of collagen. Other risks include
infection, abscesses, open sores, peeling of the skin, lumping and
scarring of the skin, but all of these mentioned are very rare. There
is no reaction to the fat used because we harvest the fat from the
patient themselves and use that for their injections.
